ESC Engineering were engaged to provide the ICT and security design solutions for this new 500 bed mining camp.

ESC engineering utilised our in-house RCDD qualified engineers to design a value for money and easily installed GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) solution which allowed for a simple and deployable system providing wireless connectivity for all workers and entertainment services utilising the same backbone infrastructure.

In addition, wireless electronic locks on all doors connected back to a access control system headend allowed the users to manage all room access as well as features such as alcohol counting at mess halls and alcohol detection for pre-shift bus entry.

The CCTV system also used the GPON infrastructure and POE technology which enabled a comprehensive camera system to monitor all 500 entry doors of the accommodation units, to ensure the safety and well being of all camp users whilst minimizing costs due to expensive poles and cabling.
